Founded in 2012 and headquartered in San Francisco, the company has over 14 million users.

About the founders/CEO:

The world was a different place in 2012. Back then, recent college graduates Jerry Hum, Dennis Liu, Steven Ou, and Jonathan Wu took a look around and felt that something was missing. Something big. Online shopping was nothing new, but a destination specifically made for men didn’t exist. They believed a thoughtfully curated, discovery-based site that offered the best in design and innovation would appeal to urban men in a huge way. So they took a big risk. They left their jobs, moved across the country, and started Touch of Modern.

About Jerry Hum: after obtaining his degree in architecture from Cornell University, Jerry Hum joined Swanke Hayden Connell in New York as a design architect. In 2012, Jerry co-founded Touch of Modern, creating and overseeing site design and merchandising strategy as the Chief Creative Officer. In 2015, Jerry stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer. In addition to all the duties that come with being CEO, Jerry maintains a concentrated focus on sales, merchandising, and art direction. 

About Steven Ou: although he studied economics as an undergrad, Steven Ou has been programming since he was 11. After receiving his degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Steven journeyed west to California and joined the incubator program for the start-up that eventually became Touch of Modern, originating the role of CTO, which he still holds to this day. In 2016, Steven and his Touch of Modern co-founders were recipients of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Award.
