Dejbox was founded in 2014 in an effort to revolutionize the lunch break that for far too many has become monotonous and boring. Dejbox's mission was to ensure that employees who worked outside of main cities had access to restaurant quality food at affordable prices.

Dejbox has a variety of different lunches to choose from, all of which are created by people with a real knowledge and passion for food. The lunches are delivered right to your office door, free of charge, and can be purchased for the standard price of a lunch voucher, which is typically less than 9 euros.

To receive their custom lunch box, employees must order their meal before 11am (they can order, at the start of that week, all their lunches for the subsequent 5 days) and it will be delivered by drivers who will deliver a large quantity of meals in one run. Each driver is empowered by Dejbox, as their happiness and comfort ensures that the company's process runs as smoothly as possible. Every driver is a full-time employee and they each get monthly reports telling them how much revenue they've generated for the company.

We at Partech first spotted this emerging company, and invested in them back in 2015. From then, the company has grown considerably, and in 2019, was acquired by Carrefour.

Co-founder and CEO of Dejbox, Vincent Dupied, has written an in-depth analysis of their journey and their experience with our own Boris Golden, who was in charge of the investment; find the article hereBoris Golden also explained the Dejbox model in a blogpost, read it here
