LemonBox is a Chinese e-commerce startup that imports vitamins and health products from the U.S.. The app that is available through the WeChat platform allows the customer to take a 5 minute dietary survey designed by their Nutrition Scienific Committe headed by Dr. Hang Xu, thus providing the company with the information needed to create a personalized vitamin pack which is sent to the client from California within 10 days.
About the founders/CEO:
Derek is the founder and CEO of lemonBox. He’s a serial entrepreneur with great passion in e-commerce and big data. Before starting LemonBox, he worked for Walmart eCommerce in the Bay Area and launched its cross-border e-commerce business between China and US. He also spent time working at Merrill Lynch and Morningstar in his early career. Derek received his joint Masters Degree in MBA and Public Policy from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Hang is the co-founder and Chief Nutrition Scientist. She has spent 10+ years in the nutrition science research field, and has co-authored and published 11 research papers in top tier science magazines. Her life-long goal is to bring nutrition cares to Chinese population and improve people’s healthy eating habits. Hang is US registered dietitian and holds a PhD degree in Nutrition from Texas A&M University. She is also a recipient of the Outstanding Researcher Green Card issued by the US government.
Eddy is the co-founder and CMO. He is a passionate and seasoned marketer with 8+ years of experience in the Chinese internet industry. He started his journey at Ogilvy & Mather and developed his skills as a marketing honcho at Wandoujia (豌豆荚), which was sold to Alibaba for over $100M USD. Eddy holds a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Peking University.
