Pop Meals is a digital first quick service restaurant business based in Malaysia. Launched initially as dahmakan by food delivery industry veterans, it was the first Malaysian company to participate in Y Combinator’s startup accelerator program. Pop Meals operates on a full-stack platform; an operating system that allows the startup to control nearly every step of its operations — including recipe development, food production, tech, outlet operations and last-mile delivery.

The startup is also able to optimize costs through all points of its value chain which translates as better value for customers by operating a hybrid, dine-in and delivery-kitchen model. The hybrid outlet model drives higher customer footfall as they are set up at prime locations and offers customers more touch points including dine-in and takeaway options in comparison to prior delivery-only services.

The look and feel of the Pop Meals application and menu boards are similar to that of a Billboard Music Chart. Pop Meals’ meal chart style menu showcases the most popular meals at the top, making it easy for customers to answer the hardest question of all, “What do I order today?”. It selects its weekly menu based on customer data, including food preferences and spending habits, along with market research

With the introduction of tantalizing twists on favorites like the Golden Salted Egg Butter Chicken, Nasi Kunyit, and Crazy Spicy Mac & Cheese, Pop Meals is well on its path to driving its menu towards trendy, exciting, drool-worthy dishes that spark excitement; encapsulating the mission of Pop Meals - to offer popular meals at even more popular prices.
