Thanks to Vendease’s app, these businesses can now buy food supplies directly from farms and manufacturers, resulting in cheaper rates and a guaranteed 12-hour delivery time. Vendease has created an operating system that optimizes the flow of food, ultimately increasing profits for African food businesses. These businesses also have access to working capital through Vendease’s Buy-Now-Pay-Later scheme.
As of October 2022, over 400,000 metric tons of food have passed through Vendease’s platform, helping to save customers $2M in procurement costs and $485K in wasted foods.
About the founders
Tunde Kara is the CEO and co-founder of Vendease. He has enjoyed several pivotal roles in Media and Marketing over a decade. Before his role as CEO, Tunde was the Head of Playstudio, working to enhance brand reputation and presence for global brands such as Google, Samsung, General Electric, and Coca-cola in sub-Saharan Africa. He was also the CEO of RED Media, increasing sales and signing notable brands for customers like Unilever. He graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry.
Olumide Fayankin is the COO and co-founder of Vendease. Before co-founding Vendease, he also gained experience as COO at StateCraft Inc. After completing his Bachelor of Engineering at Igbinedion University in Nigeria. He went to study in Europe at Copenhagen Business School and the University of Aberdeen.
Gatumi Aliyu is the CPO and co-founder of Vendease. He studied Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh and has extensive experience as CPO at DiagnoseMe.Africa, Stack Diagnostics, and 54gene, the latter two of which he also co-founded.
Oyewale Oyepeju is the CTO and co-founder of Vendease. “Pioneering projects has always been part of me since my professional career started over a decade ago”, he writes. Vendease is the third company he has co-founded after Payloop and Koye-Kairos Multimedia Limited.
