RAYON RAISES €10M SERIES A TO BRING AI INTO INTERIOR DESIGN SOFTWARE

Paris, September 29, 2026 - Rayon, the browser-based drawing software for interior designers, has raised €10 million in Series A funding led by Partech, with continued backing from existing investors Northzone, Foundamental and Seedcamp. The round arrives as Rayon crosses more than 4 million drawings created on the platform. The funding will go to three things: launching 3D, weaving AI into the design experience, and scaling Rayon's go-to-market.

"What drew us to Rayon is how rare this kind of opportunity actually is. Interior design has been underserved by software for decades, and Rayon is the first team we've seen build the design layer this space actually needed rather than retrofitting tools made for architecture. AI is starting to understand geometry, but the industry still lacks the right interface between designers and these systems. Rayon is building that interface at the drawing layer, where ideas turn into real, editable drawings that stay grounded in the project rather than static output. Getting AI from impressive to useful takes control and precision, and that's what Rayon has spent five years building.

The round arrives alongside a set of releases aimed at democratizing access to capabilities that CAD has historically kept gated. A mobile-first application, a new presentation mode for editing and sharing drawings with clients in the room, and an expanded template library open up a nearly €50 billion industry that has stayed underserved for a long time.

"Interior design needs its own approach to AI, not a borrowed one. We're building ours directly into the drawing experience, while staying connected to the AI tools designers already use," said Stanislas Chaillou, co-founder & COO/CPO of Rayon, who has spent close to a decade researching and writing about AI in architecture.

One drawing, one library, one source of truth. In Rayon, the drawing and the data are the same object. Plans, styling, specifications and schedules sit in the browser together, so a specification updates when the drawing changes rather than being maintained as a separate document. Teams work in the same drawing at the same time and share it with a link rather than an export. 3D is next, brought into that same single environment rather than bolted on as a separate tool.

“The most common thing we hear in a demo is surprise. People open Rayon in a browser and expect a toy web application, but they discover a performance and a feature set that are better than most legacy CAD software. Our superpower is to make professional-grade CAD software approachable," said Bastien Dolla, co-founder & CEO of Rayon.

The tool is designed for interior and experiential projects rather than retrofitted from software built for architecture and engineering. Users import existing PDFs, images and DWG plans, build custom block libraries of their own components, and draw projects end to end, from feasibility all the way to execution, without leaving their model.

Today, Rayon is used worldwide by teams ranging from large operators managing portfolios across commercial real estate and hospitality to independent interior design studios. Companies like Virgin Atlantic design their airport lounges in it. CityHub, the European hostel group, runs feasibility studies in-house and reports saving €10,000 a month. Coloc Housing's five-person business team cuts €11,000 a month in feasibility costs by testing layouts before involving architects. Design studio Nolt Mathis cancelled a fifteen-year legacy CAD subscription to move across.

With this new funding round, Rayon enters its next stage. As AI becomes increasingly capable of both creating visuals and handling textual tasks with a growing degree of autonomy, the interior design discipline is set to undergo significant change. Rayon is working to find the right answer: turning AI into creative leverage that elevates the drawing experience.

That's already showing up in the product. A floor plan vectorizer turns a scanned or photographed plan straight into a fully editable native drawing, walls, openings and zones included, rather than a static image to trace over by hand. A tool that generates blocks from photographs.

"As an early backer, I've watched Bastien and Stanislas prove a simple point: productivity in the real world improves when work and output become less centralized and more accessible. Rayon takes work and helps the doers do it," said Patric Hellermann, General Partner at Foundamental.

Rayon isn't stopping here. V4, landing before the end of the year, brings a full suite of AI capabilities into the app alongside 3D, the next leap in making the drawing layer do more of the work.

Rayon has now raised close to €16 million to date. The team has tripled in size and grown to 35 people. The Series A follows a €4 million seed round in September 2023 co-led by Northzone and Foundamental, and a €1.7 million pre-seed in 2022 led by Seedcamp, with angel investors including Norman Foster of Foster + Partners, David Basulto of ArchDaily, Joe Thomas of Loom, Ralph Gootee of PlanGrid, Rasmus Andersson of Playbit and Kyle Parrish of Craft Ventures.
